Impacting Cities & Communities thru Prayer
A Community of Prayer Champions, Praying Churches, Prayed-for Communities
So often in our lives we learn how to pray because of our "prayer projects". Many years ago when I was pregnant with my first born I went through a devotional book and prayed the prayers in preparation for my child. Of course as she grew I realized that the prayer project would be continued indefinitely. My son came along and I was fully launched into it! Raising children really humbles you and causes you to realize just how little you know and how much you need God's wisdom in order to accomplish this task.I did all I knew to do, along with their father, to raise the kids to know and love God. As it turned out, I had 2 special needs children, one is a recovering alcoholic/chemical dependent and the other has bipolar disorder. I did not know this for years. We found out the hard way.
Thus begun my schooling in prayer. For many years I was hooked up with Moms In Touch International as a participant and leader. These women were a great deal of help and partnered with me. I certainly learned a lot that had to change about me. I know that all those prayers by me and my husband and the Moms In Touch women many times over saved our lives and kept us all reasonably sain. Besides the things I learned about God I also learned some things about me, some of which was good and some that was not.
For this blog all I really want to say is that prayer projects build much character in us and enable God's plans to go forward after all!
