If you're like me, the new year is a time when you evaluate your life, including your spiritual disciplines. I often change up spiritual disciplines a bit at the beginning of the year in order to keep my time with God fresh.
If you're looking for a different way to start the year in prayer, you might want to consider Pray the Word, by Tiece King. Published by Prayer Shop…Continue

A prayer alert from the Presidential Prayer Team today reads:
Situations like this one drive us to our knees in prayer to our great God, and they should. We pray for the children, who are likely scared by circumstances they can't even understand, let alone control. We pray for…Continue
Every three years between Christmas and New Year, InterVarsity Christian Fellowship sponsors a 5-day mission event called "Urbana", named after its longtime location at the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana, Illinois. The last several events have been held in St. Louis (due to outgrowing the venue), but the conference retains the Urbana brand. Urbana challenges college students to see the needs of the world and to respond…Continue
You may have seen Merton Hershberger's posts for prayer for the Arabian Peninsula. Merton has a huge heart for the Peninsula and for prayer for the world. This week, Pray.Network caught up with Merton to learn a bit more about him.

We conclude our month of focus on the Persecuted Church with Open Doors (www.opendoorsusa.org), perhaps the best-known of the organizations devoted to believers persecuted for their faith.
Open Doors was founded by Brother Andrew in 1955 in response to the increasing persecution of the church in Eastern Europe. Brother Andrew focused initially on…

I recently finished Tim Keller's Walking With God Through Pain and Suffering - a book I highly recommend for those who pray for and with the suffering. I'll post a review on the book soon. The next to last chapter had some thoughts on Philippians 4:6-7 that have stuck with me, and I'll try to do them justice here.
Keller makes the point that the "prayer with thanksgiving" that Paul talks about in Philippians 4:6 is different than the way we tend to think of it. We tend to think of…Continue

As we continue our focus this month on the Persecuted Church, this week's spotlight falls on one of the leading advocacy and outreach agencies for the Persecuted, Voice of the Martyrs. VOM was founded in 1967 by Pastor Richard Wurmbrand, who was imprisoned 14 years in Communist Romania for his faith in Christ. His story is told in "Tortured for Christ", a…Continue
-- Hebrews 12:3, NIV.
Persecution is not new to the Christian church. No sooner did the church get off the ground than the persecution began, as Peter and John were brought before…
This week, we're turning the Spotlight on Ron Edwards, a relatively new member of PrayNetwork. Ron is located in Australia and joined the Network on July 1, 2015.
PN: Ron, how did you first come to be interested in prayer?
Ron: I began to experience prayer as spiritual warfare when I took my company Christian Press into the secular marketplace under the name Care & Share Products. We focused on offering scripture cards and gifts. …Continue

The Hajj is an annual pilgrimage required of all Muslims who are able. During the 3-day event, around 3 million Muslims from all over the world flock to Mecca (Saudi Arabia) to perform sacred acts and follow the steps of Muhammad, their prophet. This year, the Hajj will start on September 21st and last for 3-4 days.

This weekend marked the opening of the highly anticipated War Room movie. As you might expect from anything so public with such a solid Christian message, the movie has had a bit of a polarizing effect in early reviews. The movie's Facebook page has over half a million likes, with many rave reviews about not only the message of the movie, but also the entertainment…Continue
As the summer draws to a close, our thoughts naturally turn to the beginning of the school year. Students today - from Elementary through College - face challenges not faced by previous generations. The declining morality in America, emphasis on individual freedom and situational ethics, and a general crisis of faith combine to push students toward destructive patterns,…Continue
