All three of the books are available on Amazon.com.  The total cost on Amazon.com was under $30.00 including shipping.  There may be other sources where the books can be found.

The class will be presented as part of a group titled ‘Praying Together Course’ with a lesson presented in an out line form.  The Title of the lesson that we will be reviewing lesson will be in the location where discussion questions are in a group, then the Lesson material will be listed below it.  Following the lesson there will be some reflective questions to answer.  I as the leader and facilitator, encourage you to take some time and study the material, and jot a few thought down related to the reflective questions.  The more you put into the class, the more you will learn.  Sharing your thoughts also helps challenge all of us.

When you study the material, if there is a question or a point that needs clarifying, kindly let me know.

If a lot of discussion develops on a lesson, time will be allowed for that discussion, rather than move on to stay on a time schedule.

There are a few ground rules that we need to remember:

  • Each of us is at a different level of prayer.  We need to remember this and be gracious in our approach.
  • Some may approach prayer from a different doctrinal perspective.  This should be respected.
  • Discussion is encouraged, especially in a way that each of us shares with others, items about the lesson presented.  Questions may come up that are different than the lesson.  Those questions are also important, and may be best asked by leaving a message with the instructor.

Now to move forward with an opening prayer for all of us involved in the course:

Father, This is your course.  I invite you Holy Spirit to guide all of us and the discussions in this course.  May we learn your truths that will help us in our relationship with you, as we pray individually and with others.  In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Thank you Lewis and your wife for taking the time to to this course. I have learned a lot and looking forward to implementing what I have learned with the other intercessors at my church.

nyameke fovole adjoba asuahkwasi,

The materials are available on Amazon.com.  The cost to those of us in the USA is relatively low for most, but if you cannot afford the books, don't worry.  We have written the lessons to cover all that you need for the lesson.  The books will help, but all you need is the lesson and God's Word.   We would encourage you to work the lessons which have posted, and still are posted in past posting in this group.  Please let us know if you have trouble accessing them.  We encourage everyone to start with the first lesson, then moving forward to the next lesson, and continue working the lessons in sequence. Take time to look-up all the scripture presented.

As you study the lesson, answer some of the reflection questions.  Don't be afraid to post your thoughts to a reflection question.  I find that when I write something down, and share it, that action will help me personally, others, and the instructor - by helping the instructor know if the lesson was helpful and understood.

There is another great benefit from working the lessons, rather than just reading them--It gives opportunity for God's word to be placed in your heart and accomplishing what God wants in your life!!  God knows what He has planned for you, and He wants you to study to be ready. (II Tim 2:15).

My wife and I look forward seeing you work the lessons and responding to the reflection questions.

Blessings as you move forward.

I just sent out an e-mail to the members of the Praying Together Class to remind them that we are getting near the end of the first module and a certificate will be given to those who participated in the lessons in that module.

For those relatively new to the course--don't panic.  There is a lot of material for you to cover--and the course is NOT stopping.  Please take you time, and do consider responding to the reflection questions at the end of each lesson.  A completion certificate will be available to you when you complete the course if you have participated by sharing and commenting on the course reflection questions.

As facilitator, I want to see everyone have a chance to learn the material well.

Congratulations (together; rejoice) to everyone who has been a diligent participant and to the Turners for the scores of hours to prepare and present the material. This is why Pray! Network exists!

Message to the Members of the ‘Praying Together Class':

On completion of the next lesson, Lesson #14, we will have completed the main module of the course.   Lesson #14 will be a reflection lesson, and is a good time to share what the Lord has done through the course.  We have moved the reflection lesson up so we can have feed back on this module.  That lesson is helpful to my wife and I, enabling us to listen to any helpful suggestions about the course.  This share time is also an important time to others in the class, as much of what may be shared—will encourage others.

When the first module is completed, the course will continue for four more lessons.  Those lessons will be very interesting and helpful.  The first of the four lessons will be on praying for your leaders—a good lesson especially in election year.  The last three will be focused on praying for your children.  These lessons should provide helpful thoughts in praying for your children and in bringing husbands and wives together, praying for their children.

I do have a list of those who started the course, and for the people who have participated and responded to the lessons.  I would like to give out a certificate to them for their efforts.  They took the time to study and provide a response to the reflection questions.  I believe the e-mail on Pray-Network will allow me to do this—if not we will look for alternate ways of giving recognition.

The certificate will be for those who have responded to the lessons, at least twice during the course.  If you have responded once or not at all—and would like a certificate, then we need a total of two responses posted on any lesson (past or current) or lessons.  The certificates would be sent out after the reflection lesson—lesson#14, which will be the next lesson (again that is a change to the syllabus order of classes). That lesson will be posted sometime in March.

The course will resume with the remaining 4 lessons.  I trust the response to those lessons will continue.   Please do not hesitate to respond to a reflection question on any of the lessons-even if the lesson was presented sometime back.  Some have done so, and we appreciate seeing that effort.

Many of you have put a lot of effort into the course, learning and studying.  It is approaching time for recognition of that effort, and it is my desire to recognize those who have participated.  The certificate may also be helpful to you in your church or elsewhere.

I would like to note that most of you may not have realized how much effort went into preparing this course.  It is one that I wrote and developed, upon seeing a need.  With my wife’s help, and through her edits, I also now consider her a co-author.  Between us, probably each lesson represents a total of at least 60-80 hours of preparation time.  We did this without remuneration, because we sensed the Lord leading us to share in these lessons from our hearts.  I trust, many of you who took time to work the lessons, found the Lord moving you forward in your Christian walk, and in prayer with others.  That was our heart prayer.

Again, the course is not stopping here—there are four more interesting lessons.  Also, we have had people join the course later after it started, and if those who are new to the course would like certificates too, when they complete the course, then I am willing to provide a completion certificate if they respond to the response questions in the lessons.  We will need enough accountability to know they too have gone through the whole course through lesson #14.

I am looking forward to giving recognition to all who have put themselves into studying the lessons presented.

To all class members of Praying Together--Lesson 13--Developing a Prayer Culture in the Church has just been posted.

There has been a lot of prayer, and seeking the Lord for wisdom as my wife and I prepared the text for posting.  We have lost track of the hours spent in putting it together.  Our prayer is that it will challenge all of us to encourage our Churches to be a House-of-Prayer.

Please take time to read it, study it, and respond to it.  Those responses are important, not only to my wife and I, but to other students in encouraging them, too.

As the New Year Progresses, this would be a good time to share your experiences in encouraging family, Sunday School classes, and churches to pray together.

I will start by sharing a one on one experience.  I have a dear friend, whose daughter is working for a a person in politics, and also has severe back issues.  I encouraged him that a Father praying for his daughter is very powerful.  --Now, once I catch up with him again at church, I will further encourage him by letting him know that I am praying for him and his daughter.--Perhaps somewhere we will be able to have coffee together build a closer friendship that will encourage prayer.

Encouraging people by caring for them through prayer is very important.

What other ways has prayer been encouraged throughout the course?

PS--The next lesson in the course is under edit right now--detailed edit--probably ready in 2+/- weeks.  (Hopefully)  Look for it.  It will be an encouragement to all.
