Years ago, I baptized Frank, a gang member. I got ready to baptize him and he took out his gun and laid it on the edge of the baptismal. I was using a portable baptismal shaped like a coffin full of water. I stood on the side and would lower candidates into the water grave and then raise them up to new life in Christ. As Frank came up out of the water he began to weep with emotion. Later I learned he had not cried since he was 5, when his daddy broke his nose. He grabbed me and wept. His tears got me wet. When I went home my wife asked what happened to me as my tie was soaked. I said, “I got baptized in the tears of a convert.”
Those tears were cleansing. Powerful enough to wash away church disappointment and all sorts of church stuff. Jesus gave us a good church plan called The Great Commission Plan. “Go into all the world and make disciples!” Could we meet at the baptismal and remember our own baptism and then help each other baptize new converts. Tears of converts could wash away a lot of the frustration of General Conference.
Could we make a list of the lost and pray for God to put his love and burden for them in us? And as we pray, the Holy Spirit will convict and convince them. In fact, I have written a book to help in this salvation process called My Most Wanted List. You can order it or I will send free PDF file to you.
John Wesley said to us, ““You have nothing to do but to save souls; therefore, spend and be spent in this work.”
Will you agree with me that The Great Commission Plan will be our passion?

PS: Not long ago my gay daughter, Amy, asked me to marry her and her partner. I told her I could not. She cried and I cried. I fully understand and feel the dilemma of our church.

Unforgiveness can hamper our receiving from God. In fact unforgiveness is a pad lock WE PUT on God's pantry. We get offended and so we wait for them to come to us and ask our forgiveness. For years I prayed for my dad to come to the Lord and get a better job. Nothing happen. My dad was a good man but he drop the ball when it came to me. I was waiting for him to ask me for forgiveness. But I had to go first. So I asked him to forgive me, and as I was doing so the phone was ringing with a better job and in two weeks he accepted Christ!
Here is a prayer for you:
"Lord thank you that you went first and forgave me of all my sins and mistakes. Your grace covered my past and gave me a new life.
I forgive the people I have been waiting on to make things right.....
I forgive all the senseless things in life that hurt and I can not change.....
I forgive myself now....
So empower me with grace to now be as a duck and bead as water all the offenses that come my way in life.
In Jesus name I receive your promise and provision. Amen
