A Prayer for Our Next President
[First drafted October 15, 2020 by Phil Miglioratti]
Regardless of which candidate wins,
Christ-followers must be prepared to follow these instructions the Holy Spirit gave
to the pastor of the Church in Ephesus
"Most of all, I’m writing to encourage you to pray with gratitude to God.
Pray for all people with all forms of prayers and requests
as you intercede with intense passion.
And pray for every political leader and representative,
we live tranquil, undisturbed lives,
as we worship the awe-inspiring God with pure hearts.
It is pleasing to our Savior-God to pray for them.
He longs for everyone to embrace his life and
return to the full knowledge of the truth."
First Letter to Timothy
Thank You that You loved us so much that You died to save us from our sins.
I agree with Phil's prayer for the president. Let him and the vice president seek You with all their hearts and minds and serve You with all their strength. We pray this for all who work with them too.
Let Your eye and hand be on America to the end of days, so that this nation will fulfill the plans and purposes You planned even before we existed.
Please make us faithful in praying for the president and his administration. Guide us in our prayers. Guard our hearts and thoughts when we pray, so that we glorify You with our hearts as well as our minds, so that our prayers are acceptable to You.
Help us all to act justly, to love mercy and to walk humbly with our God in wisdom and discernment.
We pray for peace - Your peace - in the land and the nation.
Make this nation a blessing in Your kingdom for Your people in the land and all over the world.
Let Your kingdom come, Your will be done and Your Name be glorified.
In the Name of Jesus Christ we pray, amen.
Pray for many to pray this prayer for our next President...
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Sri Lanka,
Thank you so much for your prayers and encouragement. May God bless you all for your kindness and love.
Lord God, thank You for the love and support from Your people in Sri Lanka. We are so very grateful for every prayer. Please bless our brothers and sisters and their families and especially Sudarman who took the time to write to us to inform us of their very welcome prayers and support at this time of uncertainty.
Give them Your peace and joy. Let Your wonderful Presence be with them always.
Let Your will be done in America, and in Sri Lanka and all over the world.
God bless Sri lanka and America.
We praise You in the Name of Jesus Christ, amen.
Eph 3:20, 21 ESV Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.
Declare a holy fast; call a sacred assembly.
Summon the elders and all who live in the land
to the house of the LORD your God, and cry out to the LORD...
'Even now,' declares the LORD, 'Return to Me with all your heart,
with fasting and weeping and mourning.
'Rend your heart and not your garments.
Return to the LORD your God, for He is gracious and
compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in love,
and He relents from sending calamity.
Joel 1:14; 2:12-13
|Global Time of Repentance: November 10-January 20 Inauguration|
Dear spiritual warriors for Yeshua/ Jesus:
Scripture tells us (Ephesians 5: 26-27) that the Lord will present us, His Bride, to Himself as a glorious church without spot or wrinkle.
The shaking of the Godly roots in this contentious Presidential election in the United States is a key part of that cleansing process. Some good has already been achieved: a sleeping, apathetic Church is coming awake; apathy is being removed from the Bride. Real spiritual warfare, the spirit of righteousness battling evil, is being experienced by many for the first time. Unity is growing across denominations in this spiritual battle. The power of prayer is being awakened in local and global prayer calls for God's help and His mercy.
Calling on God's help requires iniquity in anyone's heart to be removed. Where there is iniquity in one's heart, the Lord will not hear (Psalm 66:18). However, the prayer of a righteous man "availeth much." (James 5: 16).
The Lord changes the times and the seasons. He removes kings and raises up kings. To support the cry for His mercy, and to install a Presidency based on a Godly direction, GDR has made this Call for a Time of Repentance between today, November 10, 2020, and Inauguration Day, January 20, 2021.
If you haven't yet done so, please pray and join us: www.globalrepent.com.
God willing, day after day up to January 20, Global Day of Repentance will provide repentance testimonies, suggestions, and updates on the ongoing litigation battles.
Personal repentance builds righteousness. Adding your daily repentance to prayers and fasting will "avail much." As old sin strongholds are removed, our vessels will receive more oil of the Holy Spirit, cleansing the Bride.
Join us during this contentious USA election process in building righteousness globally to add to the many cries for His mercy.
Your personal repentance cleanses the Bride. We all fall short of His glory. There's no condemnation; He forgives us when we confess our sins. He encourages us to go beyond merely confessing and feeling sorry for the sin; He wishes us to purify by exercising our free will to change our thinking and behavior, removing that sin pattern, showing others a new Godly character. We are called to bear His Fruit of the Holy Spirit, worthy of repentance.
As you and I repent His Word says that He will hear from heaven. As we repent our prayers for His Mercy to sustain our Godly roots in all nations will "avail much."
Where do we begin? It's entirely between you and the Holy Spirit, but here below is one suggested sin stronghold to remove, one personal, one national.
God willing, there will be one for each day between now and the January 20, 2021 Presidential Inauguration. These are only suggestions; nor will they be presented in any particular order. As you read His Word, add your own sin issues. His goal for you and me: that we would be zealous to repent!
November 10: the personal sin of "a proud look"---Proverbs 6:17 : the national sin of killings of innocents---Psalm 139.15-16
God bless you,
Pastor Jeff Daly
