Moms will be “Blanketing Our Nation in Prayer” in Washington, D.C.
FORT SMITH, AR (December 4, 2012) - Worldwide Mom’s Day of Prayer will host its first “Blanketing Our Nation in Prayer” event in Washington, D.C. on Saturday, January 19, 2013. Led by Kathy Coleman, founder of Worldwide Mom’s Day of Prayer, mothers representing all
50 U.S. states will gather together in prayer for their leaders, families and children on the East Capitol Grounds of the nation’s capitol from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Mom’s Day of Prayer events have been held across the U.S. and in several foreign countries over the past 14 years, but this will be the first time for the event to be held in Washington.
Kathy Coleman received inspiration for the “Blanketing Our Nation in Prayer” event soon after the November 6 presidential election. "God has a plan for our children, our families and our nation. We must stay focused on who God is because Satan is determined for us to focus on his lies of who God is not." Coleman believes "It's time for moms to draw a line in the sand and stand up and pray for our nation to return to the principals and morals this country was founded upon."
Fifty women will represent the fifty U.S. states and be invited to pray during the two-hour event. They will be organized into two groups: 25 women who are the wives of government officials or who work in government at any level and 25 women who do not work in government. A praying “government” mom will be paired with a praying “non-government” mom. Each team of women will receive a card with the names of two states written on it and be asked to pray for:
Coleman emphasizes, “This is not about an agenda. It’s about principles, morals, the Pledge of Allegiance, the Bible and sincere prayer. It's a way of life for me and millions of other Christian women. We grew up with it, taught it to our children and desire it for our grandchildren and all future generations of our nation. My call is to invite at least one mom per state to host a MDOP so that all 50 states will be blanketed in prayer on Saturday, January 19, 2013. My call is to love and pray in Washington, D.C. with other moms. And the total call is for the focus to be on God Almighty, creator of the heavens and earth, and what He can do with a group of praying moms who come before Him humbly crying out for our Nation. A nation that He decided from the very beginning of time would be the place where you and I would live “for such a time as this.”
Space for the “Blanketing Our Nation in Prayer” event is limited due to Capitol Grounds and National Parks regulations. Women interested in participating should contact Worldwide Mom’s Day of Prayer for reservations, (479) 452-6215 or Kathy@momsdayofprayer.com.
