Impacting Cities & Communities thru Prayer
A Community of Prayer Champions, Praying Churches, Prayed-for Communities
I’m writing to be sure you know about the Global Day of Prayer. Once again, it will take place on Pentecost Sunday. This will be May 23, 2010. As in previous times, like-minded Christians in every country on earth will be gathering to pray in a special way. We will be humbling ourselves in repentance and exalting Christ in hope-filled praise.
But it will be a bit different this year. Besides being an even larger event in most countries, there will be a call for repentance in hope. Last year I discovered that I was not alone in sensing that God is calling us to pray from the book of Joel. Dozens of other leaders from all over the world have felt the same thing. That’s why this year’s ten-day prayer guide contains a powerful but practical call to turn again to God during the ten days preceding Pentecost.
It’s coming soon. Across the USA last year most GDOP gatherings were smaller, but there were many more of them. It’s not too late to call for a simple gathering in your church on Pentecost afternoon or evening.
The days in which we live are treacherous and tremendous. It’s time for our prayers to transcend the agendas and urgencies of everyday matters. Thank you for praying and summoning others to gather before God at this time.
Yours in hope,
P.S. We’ve prepared a new DVD with some new short videos and practical helps. The Ten-Day Prayer Guide contains penetrating, hope-focused thoughts from the book of Joel.
