Psalm 26:9-12Do not sweep my soul away with sinners, nor my life with bloodthirsty men, in whose hands are evil devices, and whose right hands are full of bribes. But as for me, I shall walk in my integrity; redeem me, and be gracious to me. My foot stands on level ground; in the great assembly I will bless the LORD.
Thank You and praise You that I can turn to you in my… Continue

Psalm26:6-8I wash my hands in innocence and go around your altar, O LORD, proclaiming thanksgiving aloud, and telling all your wondrous deeds. O LORD, I love the habitation of your house and the place where your glory dwells.
Lord, give me the boldness, give me the willingness to speak Your name, proclaim Your glory, shout of Your goodness, mercy and love to all and sundry. Let… Continue

The person who is living a praying life is not circumstance-driven, but Christ-driven; not problem-centered, but Power-centered. Our frame of reference is not what we lack, but what God has. We define our lives within the context of eternity instead of time.
I find it interesting that when Abram, later to be Abraham, is first introduced on the pages of Scripture, he is defined by what he lacked. We first encounter his name in the lengthy lineage recorded in Genesis 11. All the other… Continue

In 1 Samuel 30, we read the account of David and his men returning to Ziklag after being away, and finding that the Amalekites had attacked Ziklag, burned it with fire, and taken the women and children captive. Verse 6 says, “Now David was greatly distressed, for the people spoke of stoning him, because the soul… Continue

I have been active in the Southern Baptist denomination for the past thirty-five years. I was discipled by men who taught me how to spend time on prayer and intercession early in my walk with Christ. Psalm 26:1-5 Of David. Vindicate me, O LORD, for I have walked in my integrity, and I have trusted in the LORD without wavering. Prove me, O LORD, and try me; test my heart and my mind. For your steadfast love is before my eyes, and I walk in your faithfulness. I do not sit with men of falsehood, nor do I consort with hypocrites. I hate the assembly of evildoers, and I will not sit with the wicked.… Continue

Psalm 25:16-22Turn to me and be gracious to me, for I am lonely and afflicted. The troubles of my heart are enlarged; bring me out of my distresses. Consider my affliction and my trouble, and forgive all my sins. Consider how many are my foes, and with what violent hatred they hate me. Oh, guard my soul, and deliver me! Let me not be put to shame, for I take refuge in you. May integrity and uprightness preserve me, for I wait for you. Redeem Israel, O… Continue

Psalm 119:82My eyes long for your promise; I ask, "When will you comfort me?"
Your promise is that You will manifest Yourself to me. I long for the complete manifestation, the total presence, the constant awareness of You in me and I in You. I call for that promise, Lord. Transform me into Your image.
The Fellowship of Ailbe is calling men to unite together in prayer for revival. Register now… Continue

I realized something this morning that I had not seen quite so clearly before. It jumped out and surprised me today. I was considering that the power of God’s Word that created the universe is as powerful now as it was in the beginning. When God says “Let there be…”, molecules accumulate into matter, atoms bond together into mass, cell fuses to cell and things which were not, now exist. When the breath of His mouth rushes out to vocalize His Word, even the tiniest neutrino is ordered into… Continue

Psalm 25:12-15Who is the man who fears the LORD? Him will he instruct in the way that he should choose. His soul shall abide in well-being, and his offspring shall inherit the land. The friendship of the LORD is for those who fear him, and he makes known to them his covenant. My eyes are ever toward the LORD, for he will pluck my feet out of the net.
I am stepping forward this day… Continue

Was the “Great Recession” caused by greed? Proponents of this view will tell you that the US economy was brought to its knees by greedy traders on Wall Street who created exotic derivatives. Supposedly, these financial instruments created huge amounts of wealth, which now lines the pockets of those investors. I have even heard it said that this is the first economic downturn caused by a moral issue: greed.
I believe that the true cause of the “Great Recession” goes much deeper than… Continue

Psalm 25:8-11Good and upright is the LORD; therefore he instructs sinners in the way. He leads the humble in what is right, and teaches the humble his way. All the paths of the LORD are steadfast love and faithfulness, for those who keep his covenant and his testimonies. For your name's sake, O LORD, pardon my guilt, for it is great.
This is so good, Lord. You ask me to obey You as… Continue

Psalm 25:4-7Make me to know your ways, O LORD; teach me your paths. Lead me in your truth and teach me, for you are the God of my salvation; for you I wait all the day long. Remember your mercy, O LORD, and your steadfast love, for they have been from of old. Remember not the sins of my youth or my transgressions; according to your steadfast love remember me, for the sake of your goodness, O LORD!… Continue

Let them praise the name of God—
it's the only Name worth praising.
His radiance exceeds anything in earth and sky;
He's built a monument—His very own people!
Praise from all who love God!
Israel's children, intimate friends of God.
(Psalm 148:13-14 Message)
Wait for the Lord;
be courageous and let your heart be strong.
Wait for the Lord. (Psalm 27:14)

Of David. To you, O LORD, I lift up my soul. O my God, in you I trust; let me not be put to shame; let not my enemies exult over me. Indeed, none who wait for you shall be put to shame; they shall be ashamed who are wantonly treacherous.
My worst and most vicious enemy is Me. And that enemy brings shame and despair and then exults over my failures, using them as weapons against me. But You, O Lord, are strength and power, wisdom and… Continue

I have a confession to make. I've voted in maybe about 15 national elections over the years, and I can't remember a time when I asked God which candidate should get my vote. To be honest, my prayers for elections tend to be more about me informing God who I've decided the right candidate is and asking him to get that person elected. Seems a bit backward, doesn't it?
I've participated in prayer groups in the past that focus on praying for our country and have come to realize… Continue
