Certainty in uncertain world

So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

THE PURPOSE OF DISCIPLESHIP AND THE POWER OF PRAYER

Ephesians 4:11-12 reads, “It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, to prepare God’s people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of…

God uses People to Bridge the Gap

The Bible describes prayer as “Standing in the Gap” or “Bridging the Gap” the channel through which God’s will is brought to earth. We are going to look in God’s Word to see some examples of people he used to stand in the gap so his purpose could be accomplished.

God chose or appointed Moses to stand in the gap between His people, the Israelites and Pharaoh. Esther stood in the gap for her people, the Israelites with prayer and fasting when…

Lord, Teach us to Pray

“It happened that while Jesus was praying in a certain place, after He had finished, one of His disciples said to Him, "Lord, teach us to pray just as John also taught his disciples." Luke 11:1 NASB

Do we know how to pray as we ought? According to the bible we don’t. Since we don’t know how to pray as we should the Bible tells us that the Holy Spirit intercedes for us. The fact is, no one can teach us to pray but God. Others can give suggestions and advice, but no…

Psalm 100:2-3

With each step of faith you take God will provide the
faith to take the next!

Serve the Lord with gladness; Come before His presence
with singing. Know that the Lord, He is God; It is He who
has made us, and not we ourselves, We are His people and
the sheep of His pasture. Psalm 100:2-3 NKJV

God invites us to Intercede for our communities

In Genesis 18 We see Abraham visited by the LORD, three "men" Abraham recognized.  Quickly he prepared food for them.  They told him that Sarah would have a child by this time next year.  In verses 16-21 these who represent the LORD were leaving and stopped just far enough away so that Abraham could hear them speak about Sodom.  The three wanted Abraham to overhear so his heart would get in line with the heart of God.  Abraham began to intercede for Sodom vss 22-33.  God placed the city of…

10,000 Bags of Gold

Jesus tells Peter that we should forgive people 7 x 70 times, then he teaches about a servant that owed 10,000 bags of gold. This servant could never repay the debt he owned, that was the point of the story, we owe way too much to God and we cannot pay it back. We need mercy and forgiveness. Thank God for the forgiveness we walk in as believers in Jesus. But Jesus also calls us to be givers of forgiveness. The servant who owed 10,000 bags of gold would not forgive another servant for 100…

Testimony of How I lived The Civil War In Lebanon between 1975 and 1990

 Lilian Schmid from Australia,

I was born in Beirut, at the age of 13 the civil war of Lebanon broke in 1975. Our shelter was the small living room where many of our neighbours and relatives use to gather to feel safe and protection. Young high school Christian students left their school, Christian students left their universities to join the Christian Militia to fight Muslims. It was a nasty war, I won’t go in details because I hate politics. I didn’t have a happy teen age…

Fasting Thoughts - Tuesday 13 Jan 15

I fast from Breakfast to Dinner on Tuesday.  I would like to post a few thoughts on what God is showing me.  Today, God has shown me for the need for prayer for our nation.  We need renewal in the Church and the revival in the nation.  I also believe, Joel 2 has a prophetic component for the nation. He longs to restore, but only if we have a solemn response to what God shows us.

Praying Through the Year Ahead

It's two weeks into the new year... How many of us have already dropped out in our resolutions? Take a look at this encouragement from Bob Allums, Director of A Praying Life, a ministry of seeJesus, on how to pray deliberately about this year.

One thing I have learned following Jesus all these years is that he will lead you straight into situations…

Why pray for the desert tribes?

The news is filled with stories of people from the Arabian Peninsula who have developed a reputation as terrorists. Some would call them enemies.

Jesus commanded us to pray for our enemies. To pray for our enemies is to pray for them the way Jesus did: to pray that they would find forgiveness as they repent and discover the mercies that are new every morning in the Messiah.

The Messiah did not die in a way that seemed noble. But His nobility was vindicated…

Have our prayers been too polite with God?

Prayer is necessary because it energizes our heart, it releases God's blessing, and it results in real change on the earth. But we have been too polite with God. I do not mean we should be irreverent; I am saying the Lord's Prayer is not a weak, pleading prayer. There is a time to plead with God, but what Jesus gave was prophetic. There is not a “please” in it. Indeed, it’s the Father's pleasure to give us His kingdom (Lk 12:32). Thus, Jesus…

The Dream of Peace

"It is by making myself Catholic that I brought peace to Brittany and Vendée.

It is by making myself Italian that I won minds in Italy.

It is by making myself a Moslem that I established myself in Egypt.

If I governed a nation of Jews, I should reestablish the Temple of Solomon."  (Napoleon)

PRAYER
Thousands of villages dot the mountains in an Arabian country. A young man from one of them heard about the Book from a city friend who came to visit him on holiday. The lad began to read it, even traveling to the city with questions. Pray that he will think about the answers he received. Pray that he will continue to read the Book…

PrayNetwork.org Relaunched!

Recently, Jonathan Friz (a featured member of our network and a prayer leader colleague) asked an important question ...

"I would like to hear your heart for PrayNetwork.org. i'm really bad at social media (not even on facebook), but i'd love to hear more of your heart for it."

My Response - This is exactly what I hope every member is asking ... and praying: "Lord, what is your purpose and plan for this network…
