How To Begin a Reimagine Journey [My Tweet-Sized (280 characters) suggestion]

God took our church from practically no prayer to a large and growing prayer ministry and prayer taking a greater place in ministry and in our church as a whole.
This was a totally God wrought thing and this is only the beginning in our desire to see our church become a house of prayer. I felt, many years ago, that He was giving me a quiet confidence that He was going to bring about an increase in prayer at our church. Yet for many years I saw nothing happening at all, at times it was frustrating and discouraging.
Then God brought a woman to our church who saw the lack of anyone to pray after services and she began our first prayer ministry, the After Service Prayer Team. From that group another person started the Pastors Prayer Team which is an emailed prayer list of requests from our pastors.
Our Sr. pastor had been suffering from debilitating migraines and so some of us got together to pray for him on a weekly basis. That turned into a worship based prayer night where anyone can come and join us as we pray for our church and our leaders. It is still going strong many years later. It is a dynamic, spirit led meeting.
Some books that were very helpful in the early days was Daniel Henderson's book on worship based prayer Fresh Encounter. The other was Prayer Saturated Church. .
A few of the 11 or so prayer ministries are: The Prayer Mentoring ministry, we also have leaders from other ministries who want to see prayer increased in their ministry who meet 3 times per year to learn how to facilitate prayer and support each other. We have a prayer network team that prays for requests that the church office receives. AND we also have been given a suite to create a prayer center! Something we prayed for for years and now is here! God has brought us far, yet there is much farther to go. God is faithful.
