Your Prayers May Be the Difference Between Life or Death

In homes in every community, there are children whose lives have been devasted by abuse and/or neglect. There are those who are praying to die because they aren't sure they can endure another bloody lip, broken bone, or soul destroying insult. Others are praying that when morning comes, they will still be alive. In their hearts they silently cry out to be rescued, comforted, loved, and healed.

I was one of those children and I'm convinced that it was the prayers of my grandmother, my school teachers, and neighbors who didn't know what else to do but pray, that kept me alive.

You may not know their names or their situations but God does. Some are in foster homes that aren't any better than their biological homes. Ask God to make you aware of the foster children in your church or community and to show you how you might be able to make a difference.

I grew up in foster care and struggled with the damaging effects of physical and emotional abuse well into adulthood. When I was 40 years old, I came to know Jesus as my Savior and He is healing me from all my sickness and all my disease. :) I would like to join you in praying for children in foster care homes inneed of His love, His mercy, His grace and His protection.

Thank you for sharing your heart for neglected children. I think we all know about situations you adressed on the blog. Hopefully we can learn more about how to be helpful and show concern.
