Impacting Cities & Communities thru Prayer
A Community of Prayer Champions, Praying Churches, Prayed-for Communities
This discussion will continue the posting of Presidential Prayer Team alerts for 2017. I encourage you to post prayers or pray on your own in response to the alerts. Many Christian leaders believe that we are at a crossroads in the path of the United States - will we once again become a country that God uses for his purposes in the world, or will we continue down a path that takes us further away from God's purposes? This is not primarily a political question - it's a spiritual question. And prayer is our best spiritual weapon. Please join in praying for our country!

Today will be President Trump’s first full day back in the White House following his tour of Asia. He arrived at 10:45 PM last night. Many are curious about the president’s perspective on the trip and his plans going forward in regards to the relationships with the nations he visited. The White House has not released any official statements, but the president said that a major announcement would come as soon as he was back in the White House. The time and date have yet to be set.

On Friday, the president added five more names to that list. The White House released a statement, which read, “The president remains deeply committed to identifying and selecting outstanding jurists in the mold of Justice Gorsuch. These additions, like those on the original list released more than a year ago, were selected with input from respected conservative leaders."

Happy Thanksgiving from the Presidential Prayer Team!
Today the president will celebrate Thanksgiving with his family. There’s no public schedule, but the president is actively keeping tabs on a number of things. A navy plane crashed in the Philippine Sea and, at the time of release, 3 sailors were still missing. Argentina lost contact with a military submarine with 45 crew members and President Trump issued an order for the United States to aid in the search and rescue.
The president will be spending the day with his family and is also expected to find some time to rest and relax. He may play a few rounds of golf over the holiday before heading back to the White House.

The president is expected to return to the White House mid-afternoon.
In an official proclamation from the White House, President Trump declared December as Nation Impaired Driving Prevention month. “On average, every 50 minutes, a person in the United States dies in a vehicle crash involving alcohol,” the official statement began. The president continued and added that in 2012, over 4.2 million adults admitted driving impaired at least once within a 30 day period.
He continued by saying that “driving while impaired, even after one drink, can dramatically change the lives of drivers, passengers, innocent bystanders, and their loved ones. My Administration is committed to raising awareness about the dangers of impaired driving and to eliminating it from our communities,”
In the end, he called out the responsibility of each American to do what is right, “Ultimately, the responsibility for preventing impaired driving lies with each of us. We care for our loved ones when we keep them safe and prevent them taking the wheel after drinking alcohol. By taking action to educate our fellow Americans, through coordinated efforts with family, friends, neighbors, schools, churches, and community organizations, we can reduce deaths and accidents arising from impaired driving.”
For the president as he leads in areas such as helping bring about cultural change through raising awareness.
For the nation that all Americans would heed such calls to action and responsibility.
For the local law enforcement officers as they work to keep Americans safe.
