Hi Marsha, when Praying for the World I use to read the 20-20 World Prayer book, but have lost it at some bodys home.
I have tried to get the- every home for Christ Prayer map you mentioned but they do not send them out side the U S A. I don't know if I can get the same in England, but would have liked to use it. Will wait to see if other people come up with some other ways.

I am a missionary with the International Mission Board of the SBC. They have a website called CompassionNet where missionaries from around the world post prayer requests and praises. This is a great resource and keeps our missionaries and their work before pray-ers.
Thanks for the insight Pamela. I will be checking out the website and praying in accordance.

We have several children that we sponsor through Compassion International. I am part of the prayer team that receives a prayer calendar each month. While they ask for specific prayers, I have a tendency to say other prayers for the school or project that a child is, for the country if I'm aware of a conflict...I let the Spirit lead after using the prayer calendar as a jumping off point.

I also have missionary friends in Africa and in India so I receive their letters and keep those families in prayer.
I use Operation World by Patrick Johnston. It is a daily prayer guide for individual nations. Beginning alphabetically a different country is listed each day. Some of the larger countries are prayed over for more than one day. There is very helpful information on the government, culture and most importantly the church. There is also suggestions for prayer. This book is completely revised about every ten years to keep it as up-to-date as possible. I love the picture you have posted of Christ looking at the world. Often as I am praying for a nation I sense the Lord looking at it and longing for its people to know him and his love for them. I also sense the great love he has for his church and those who labor for him.
Welcome Mary!
I use the world prayer map with this group but I'm not opposed to using any materials that we can get. I hope that when we are praying for specific countries you can add some information and prayers to help us be more focused on specific needs. That would be great.
Add your prayers to all the rest and I know the Lord will bless our endeavors!

Penny,
Welcome to our group! Whenever you have a specific prayer request for a nation please add your prayers here and we will stand agreement. My hope is that we can all stand united in praying for the lost people of the world.

Hi Marsha ~ I have a heart for the Nations and recently completed a Perspectives course. One of the websites I was introduced to during Perspectives was Joshua Project. I receive a weekly email of an unreached people group which gives my specific information of the people group, needs, challenges in reaching this people group with the Gospel, etc. In praying for the Nations we are united with God's dream (Rev. 7:9-10) which has enriched and energized my prayer life!
I use the Voice of the Martyrs world map and prayers from the "Prayers that Avail Much" series. I find it to be very helpful, especially when you run into those prayer concerns that are difficult to articulate.
Between the help of the Holy Spirit, praying scripture, and the faithfulness of those at VOM, I find my times in prayer to be most effective. All glory to God! He is so good!
Now, with the help of my new friends on this site I can see I will have more resources to utilize.
I have used Operation World before, but the version that's out there is pretty dated now. I recently heard that a new one is coming out toward the end of this year and I'm excited about that. I receive daily prayer updates from Global Prayer Digest and have also used various parts of the Joshua Project website to pray for the unreached. To pray for the Persecuted Church, I get a weekly update from ICC (International Christian Concern) and recently discovered the Open Doors website, which I've just begun to explore.
Our church has a mission Yearbook you can purchase or get an e-mail everyday to pray for different mission workers and groups. I would also like to try the every home for Christ Prayer map. Where could I find it ? Also I'm going to visit CompassionNet. Thanks.
Donna, You can get a map online at http://www.ehc.org/inside.jsp?sectionid=3&pageid=16 they will send you one free.
Welcome to our group. You are invited to offer your prayers for the world through our group whenever you are led to do so. We will agree in prayer with you.
Blessings,
