Ramadan, Day 10 (June 05): Family in Yemen

Father, please raise up stable, righteous leadership in Yemen - a government that will be characterized by servant leadership and whom you will grant favor in the eyes of the people.  Give to Yemen's leaders wisdom to move this country forward, moving away from anarchy and violence and toward a peaceful future.  Free this country from terrorism and provide for the needs of the many poor.

Open doors for the Gospel to spread in Yemen, Lord.  Encourage the few believers in this country in their faith and enable them to proclaim your love through word and deed.  Draw entire households to yourself and provide community for the believers.

Lead Yemeni culture forward in valuing women and providing for them opportunities for education.  Bring about increased freedom for women and chances for them to live joyful, abundant lives - especially as they come to know you.

In Jesus' name. Amen.

Ramadan, Day 11 (June 06): "What about terrorism?"

Lord God, thank you that you have given us not a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-discipline.  Thank you that your Spirit reigns in our lives, replacing our fear with courage, our natural anger and even hatred of those who do violence to love, and our indifference to others' spiritual state with your heart's desire for their salvation.

Raise up your church to pray for Muslims in this and other countries around the world.  Lead your church to pray even for the persecutors, the extremists, and the terrorists.  Raise up concerted prayer for those who even today are being radicalized.

Rescue Muslims who are going down the path of radicalization - turn them back before they have gone too far.  Lead them not into temptation, but deliver them from the evil one.  Bring to justice and repentance those who have aligned themselves with extremism, hatred, and violence.  Give your people a spirit of peace and love for Muslims, and open doors for us to share the gospel with them.

In Jesus' name. Amen.

Ramadan, Day 12 (June 07): "I Want to Get Married"

Father, please provide for the needs of Muslims in north China as they face financial obstacles to marriage.  Guide these Muslims to seek and see their value in you, rather than in marriage.  Relieve the pressure on young people to get married and assume large debt in the process.

Bless the marriages among these Chinese Muslims - please send your word to them and draw entire households to yourself.

In Jesus' name. Amen.

Ramadan, Day 13 (June 08): "Families in Kyrgyzstan"

Father, please challenge the customs in Kyrgyzstan that create such pressure and difficult circumstances, especially for young women.  Send forth your word to the people of Kyrgyzstan and show them the value of understanding your purpose and plan for families.

Bring improvement in the economic situation in Kyrgyzstan, and so remove the pressure placed on families who separate in order to earn money.

Raise up your church as salt and light for the Sunni Muslims of Kyrgyzstan - to share your wisdom with regard to families and to share hearts of servanthood.

In Jesus' name. Amen.

Ramadan, Day 14 (June 09): "A Syrian refugee family waits"

Father, please open doors of opportunity for the many Syrian refugees and refugee families who live in refugee camps.  Raise up your church to pray, to advocate, and to provide for "the least of these".  Send your word to these refugees and bring hope where today there is none.

Please raise up opportunities for education for the children and employment for the parents and other adults.  Protect them from disease and illness from their living conditions.

Raise up workers for this harvest field to share the good news with them.  Prepare and open their hearts to hear the gospel.  May the new hope you give them be not just for this life in a new country, but for eternal life with you.

In Jesus' name. Amen.

Ramadan, Day 15 (June 10): "Disability among tribal families of the Middle East"

Father, please challenge the cultural norms on the Arabian peninsula leading to marriages of close relatives and to the birth of children with disabilities and birth defects.  Bring education and an openness to new ways that will result in healthier children.

Thank you for the organizations that are reaching out to help the children and the families of children with disabilities.  Grant fruit to their efforts to enable these children to enter the mainstream of society, rather than being hidden away due to shame and dishonor.

Lord God, most of all, please reveal your love to these children and to these families.  Let them know how much you have given for them in the life of your Son, and draw them to your love and grace.

In Jesus' name. Amen.

Ramadan, Day 16 (June 11): Bakar's story

Father, thank you for the constitutional freedom of religion in Malaysia and for the resulting opportunities for your people to share the Gospel.  Please lead believers to Muslims and others in whose hearts you are working to prepare them to know the truth that can set them free.

Raise up your church to shoe love and grace to those caught up in drug addiction.  Hear the prayers of your people for healing and for salvation for these who are so lost.

Give the government in Malaysia wisdom to fight the increasing drug problem.  Raise up strong, righteous leaders who can apply the wisdom of your Word to problems like this and so move the country forward in a direction that will bring you honor.

In Jesus' name. Amen

Ramadan, Day 17 - June 12: The Ishelhayn Berbers

Father, thank you for the openness of the Ishelhayn to new ideas and ways of thinking.  Please use this openness to create paths for the Gospel to spread among them.  Raise up persons of peace among them, both in the cities and in their original villages.  Send forth workers to them with the Gospel, and prepare the way for a great harvest among them.

Please draw to yourself entire households among the Ishelhayn, so that new believers will have the support of family.

In Jesus' name. Amen.

Ramadan, Day 18 - June 13: The Minangkabau of West Sumatra

Father, please raise up persons of peace among the women of the Minangkabau.  Grant them life from your word and influence in their families and clans.  Call entire households among the Minangkabau to yourself.

Draw this people to yourself, Lord - counter the pulls of tradition, orthodox Islam, and western materialism.  Replace these with a hunger for the truth that only you can provide.

In Jesus' name. Amen.

Ramadan, Day 19 (June 14): Muslim refugees in Sweden

Father, please grant wisdom to the leadership in Sweden as they balance available resources with a desire to help refugees and immigrants.  Raise up your church to reach out with your love and grace to these refugees.  Thank you for the opportunity that many of these refugees have to hear the Gospel for the first time.  Please open their hearts to the truth of your Word.

Encourage the refugees awaiting decisions about their immigrant status.  Grant hope from your word for a life beyond the one they have known and the one they are seeking.  Enable these refugees to integrate into the Swedish culture, and please grant each one the opportunity to hear and respond to the Gospel.

In Jesus' name. Amen.

Ramadan, Day 20 (June 15): Educating Girls

Father, thank you for the efforts being made to educate children, especially girls, in many of the villages in South Asia.  Please protect these schools from attack, and continue to spread the vision for the value of educating all children.  Raise up resources for these schools so that they can provide for the children.  Provide translators for your Word so that these schools can teach the children about you in a language they understand.

In Jesus' name.  Amen.

Ramadan, Day 21 (June 16): Domari Gypsies of the Middle East

Father, thank you for the believers among the Domari Gypsies.  Please grant them purity of faith and practice - empower them to fully put off the old ways, the fears of the spirit world.  Enable them to fully trust and hope in you, and may the hope in their lives testify to other Gypsies of your love and grace and of the truth of your word.

Grant your church understanding and compassion for the Gypsies and open doors of opportunity to share your love in word and in deed.  Please provide opportunities for education for the Domari Gypsy children and for employment for the adults.  Raise up the means by which these families can provide for their needs without being exploited by others.

In Jesus' name. Amen.
